Immunisation for both kids

Finally arranged to have the kids go for their final injection at Chermside Medical. Sebastian was due for his 18mth jab and Sabrina was due for her 4 year old jab. As Adrian had been very busy at work since our return from Singapore, I did not book the kids in earlier for fear that it would be inconvenient for his work.

Went off to Chermside Medical after waking Sebastian who was taking his nap. So off to see the doctor, Dr Sonja Morgan. Very nice lady always with a smile for her patients. She was thrilled to see our Superbaby and she even noticed that I had my hair cut short. Brought the kids into her room and she started the routine checkup. Sebastian was up first with head measurement and weight before checking on his height. Currently he weighs 11.3kg and he is 85cm tall. Pretty tall for a toddler at 18mths. Sabrina was only 80cm when she was 18mths. Up next was our princess. We were very worried as she fussed a lot the last time she came in for her routine checkup and immunisation. But she was very cooperative today. She finds it fun to have her head measured. She was all ready to weigh herself on the weighing scale and was very happy to take her height measurement. AS of now, she is 103cm tall and weigh 17kg. I think she is tall for a 4year old too.

With all these checkup done, we proceeded to the nurse room to have the jab. Sabrina said she wanted to go to the toilet and Adrian brought her while Sebastian was called up for his jab. He was wiggling quite a bit and luckily he only need to have 1 jab today. He was a little cheezed off when I grabbed him and the nurse had to jab him. He cried a little and stopped almost immediately once it's done. Brave little boy.

Come the nightmare we were waiting for-- Sabrina's jab. She had a pretty nasty experience the previous time we came for her jab as it had been a long time since her last jab. Her last jab was in SG when she was 18 month old. She was screaming and crying and refusng the jab when the nurse gave her her injections the other time. We were worried it would happen again. Moreover she had 2 jabs today. BUt lukcily she was alright. According to Adrian who brought her in, she was alright fr the first jab. It was the 2nd jab that got her a little cranky as it was a bigger needle. But she was all calmed down soon after the jab. She even bade the nurse goodbye as we left the room. At least she was better this time round.
With all that done, we went off to Woolworths to get some groceries before hitting back home for a nap.

Sending the car for repairs at Stafford and Sabrina's first day at Prince Charles Hospital Childcare Centre

Had to drive out on my own with Sebastian to send the car for the tyre puncture repairs at Stafford. Sabrina was off to daychild so I was left with our prince. So after showering him, I got ready to leave for Kamrt at Stafford. By the time I reached Kmart, Sebastian had fallen asleep. The mechanic took the damaged tyre and informed me that it would take about 1-1.5hour before it's ready. So I decided to go to Stafford City to pass time. Was intending to walk there with a sleeping Sebastian when I called Adrian and he said why not drive to Stafford instead. So back to the car I went and drove to the parking lot. Found a spot and took a while to park it properly. As Sebastian was still sleeping, I decided to wait in the car. After a while I find it too hot in the car and decided to just carry him into the shopping complex as it was cooler. He woke up and we ent off to Woolworths, IGA and finally Big W. Soon it was time to collect the car. I drove back and found out that I needed to wait for another 40 minutes to have the repaired tyre back on the car. Walked back to Stafford again and spent the time at BIG W toy department where Sebastian happily played with an Elmo's figurine. FInally got the car and drove back home.
Anyway, Sabrina started on at the new centre today. Went to
pick her up and she was all ready to leave. The teacher in her class said that she had a pretty good day. Went off to see the chicks. The centre had a corner where they had an incubator and they are hatching small little chicks out from eggs. Both the kids find it very fun and fascinating.

When we got home, we found a note in Sabrina's bag. The teacher had documented down Sabrina's first day in school. Apparently she enjoyed paying at the sandpit and even talked to 2 of her classmates. We were like.....But I guess she had a pretty good day for her first day. Hopefully it stays that way.

Sabrina at her new Childcare Centre and no parking lot at Westfields

Brought Sabrina to her new childcare centre at Prince Charles to look around. After our morning shower, we got ready our stuff. Sabrina kept saying that "go Kmart". I told her "okie but we need to go school first." She was still looking for Adrian before we got into the car. "Where's Daddy?" she went. So we got into the car and off we went to her new centre. She was crying as I made the right turn instead of the usual right turn to go to Westfields. She was very angry by the time we reached her new school. She was ready to leave when we walked into the centre. Hahah.Kept telling Peta, the centre director bye. So brought her into her classroom to meet her teacher, she was already crying and screaming and wanting to go off. So Peta got Miss May to come over as she had seen her before to help calm her down. So finally we decided to leave her in the classroom while I go out for half an hour. She was all tears and all when I was leaving the room.

So I went outside and talked to the director. We could hear her crying and screaming. I told her she was like that when she first started out at Chermside. She will settle ultimately. So spoke to the director for a while and let Sebastian played with the toys on the table. Then it was silence. She had calmed down. Then came the phone call. Her teacher had called the director informing her that Sabrina had told her that she was hungry. So I went back to the car and got her biscuits and her water bottle and passed it to the director who sent it straight in. So after a while, I went in to take a peek and saw her sitting on the chair looking at one othe teachers who was cleaning the tables. Most of the kids are off for their nap. So I went back to the main room and told the director that she is alright and sitting on the chair. So I went in one more time and her teacher saw me and I sign to her that I would like to go into the classroom. So when Sabrina saw me as I opened the door, she cried and happily said her byes to the teachers. She quickly packed her container of biscuits and was all ready to leave. I got her to say goodbye and gave a hug to each of the teachers in the room. I spoke to her teacher and asked if Sabrina told her about her being hungry. She said ya Sabrina told her she was hungry. Hahah.

With that, we left the centre and I told Sabrina that we will now go to Kmart. She was indeed very happy and as I drove out of the premises, Sebastian fell asleep so I told Sabrina that we need to go home and get the pram. She was alright. So went home and got the pram and it started to rain. I got back into the car and Sabrina can even direct me which way to go to kmart. I was like.....lost for words. So drove to Westfields to the usual lots we park our car, it was totally full. I made many rounds and still we got no vacant lot. So we drove out and Sabrina was initially upset as she thought I was leaving. So I had to assure her that we are going to the other side to look for more lots. True enough there were no lots so I lef the car park and told Sabrina that we are going home. She did not fuss and was very cooperative during the trip home.

Reached home and faced another challenge -- parking the car back into the garage. Well I always told Adrian that I have no idea how to park the car in the garage and he would always assured me telling me to park the car along the road and he will drive the car into the garage when he return from work. But as Sebastian was still asleep, I had no choice but to try to park the car back into the garage. I think it must have taken me maybe 3-4 minutes to have it finally parked in the garage with room for the car doors to be opened. Phew, I did it. I was so proud of myself as it was my first try.

Gave Adrian a call when the kids went upstairs drinking their milk, I told him about the full carpark thus the enroute back home. He asked why did I not try the open air carpark. I was like .huh......I have doubts about my parking so better to return home. Then came the next question "So you parked the car along the road?" "No, it's in the garage." He was like so shocked by the news. I told him really it's in the garage. Got any damage? he asked. Idiot ....Should have told him that I parked the car at the road and when he comes home later, he cannot see his car and let him panicked alittle. But still I am very proud of myself. More practice makes perfect.

Driving on my own

Yes, we just came back from Singapore after a 3 weeks stay. Been great as we just kept eating and eating. Nice catching up with families and friends. Will post more on the 3 weeks trip in another entry.

I drove out with Sebastian on my own today. As we were away for 3 weeks, we emptied the refridgerator before we left on 12 Feb. I need to cook today but there is nothing in the fridge except some fishballs and the frozen korean meat. As I just passed my driving one day before we were to fly back to SG, I can now officially drive on my own without Adrian sitting beside me. Anyway, Sabrina was in childcare today so I am left with only Sebastian.

So after our shower in the morning, I decided to drive out to Aldi which is just outside my place. I could have gone off to Woolworths but I was worried as it was further away. First try, i think better venture into somewhere near. So off to Aldi we went. Sebastian was very cooperative on the trip. Luckily I was able to control the car after not touching it for 3 weeks. Turned into ALdi and parked the car. Shopped for the necessary groceries and came out and realised that I had parked the car too near the kerb but at least it was straight. So off we went back home. Took me quite some time to park the car at the visitor lot. Luckily there was no one there and I was left to reverse in and out of the lot until I am happy with it.

Sabrina came home happy and excited as she have had her nap in the centre from 12.30 to 2pm. SO we had our dinner and Adrian went over to James' house to collect our plant while I bathed Sabrina. When Adrian came back, we went straight to Woolworths. Adrian forced me to drive and when we reached the place, we found out that Sabrina had fallen asleep and snoring loudly. We had no choice but to park the car and I quickly went into the supermarket and get some grapes and corn. Off to Chemist to buy some formula and when we reached home, Sabrina woke up and kept telling me "COme, let's go". Hahaha...She must have remembered that we were on our way to Woolworths when she fell asleep.

Anyway too tired after the flight last night, we are off to bed now....nitey nite...

Happy Sabrina and Botak boy

Off to school she went today in a joyful mood. Today's Tueday...Sabrina's usual attendance for childcare. She was very happy and excited about it. I was turning off the heat for the fried macroni that I had prepared for their lunch when Sabrina came downstairs. She said her usual "Hello" and went about wearing her sandals and came looking for her bag and hat. She was all ready to get into the car with her bag and hat when Adrian came downstairs to load his stuff into his car but I have not tied her hair. So got her to come back into the house and quickly tied her hair while she held onto her lunch bag. With that I brought her out and wanted to sit her in her car seat and she kept turning to find Adrian who was still in the house. So I told her " Tell Daddy to be faster." She just went "faster faster faster" as if asking the dad to be quickly so that she can go off to school. Hahah....
And I shaved Sebastian botak today. He was alright when I started shaving but after a while when he saw the hair on the floor, he started crying...hahaha....but at least I know that he will not be too hot after his hair cut.

New Year new beginning

Today is the first of work for Adrian after a 2 week long company shutdown for Xmas and New Year. Heard from him that some of his colleagues were still on leave and those who are back, are not really in the mood for work. Hahah....That's what I told him way before he returns to work. All of them would still be the holiday mood..

Sabrina was packed off to childcare today. She was rather happy about going to school this morning. It seemed as though she cannot wait to go to school. By the time I finished packing both Adrian and Sabrina's lunch, Adrian was already in the midst of changing her out of her pyjamas. I went upstairs to tie her hair and soon after tying, she told me "Lie down" as in referring to lying down on her bed. I told her "No, we are going to school. Go get your hat hat." With that she happily hopped off the bed and went downstairs adn kept mumbling "hat hat". Reached downstairs and saw her sandals and she hapily put on her sandals...all ready to leave for school. When I put her in her carseat, she even told me "Bye, Muacks". hahah....and off she went to school.
