Meeting up with friends

Sabrina at the station, going to Compass Point

Finally managed to meet up with my Practicum friends. It has really been so long since we last met up as a group. Since graduation, we have not been able to meet up due to our busy schedule in school. Even when we do meet up, it would be either the June or December vacation. As time went by, the meeting up would only consist of 1 member out of the 4 members.

We did lots of catching up. I really feel great that the last 2 members of the group are finally settling down with their other halves in July and September respectively. Congrats to both T and J.

Hope to meet up with them again when time permits

Baby Show 2007 at Jalan Besar CC

Took Sabrina to take part in the Baby Show at Jalan Besar CC today. What an eye opener for both of us. There were so many babies, toddlers. The whole CC had been turned into a mini playground. I guess I can say that this is the first time I saw so many parents with prams and bags and all getting ready for this contest.

They weigh Sabrina and she is now weighing at 11.4kg. My gosh... no wonder my arms hurt when I carry her to walk from Toa Payoh Stadium to the photo shop. Now I know why.

Anyway, they did some tests on her like asking her to stack up blocks, scribble and say the word "ball". Haiz...our little attitude princess refused to do all those and ended up getting angry. Guess she was very tired and it was near to her naptime. Can't blame her much though.

After that we went to the hall to compete in the fastest baby contest. We prepared bread which is her all time favourite. So we waited at the starting line and Adrian was at the finishing line with the bread. Off went the whistle, Sabrina was so happy to see the bread and she walked real fast but halfway she got distracted by other people cheering their kids on. In the end, she came in last for that series. Hahaha. For the fun of it lor.

Then we waited for the result. One minute she was happily playing and the next she was dozing off. We were laughing so hard. I even recorded the whole process. Naughty mummy ya. Well it will serve as evidence that she did this when she was young.

Our 3rd wedding anniversary

Sabrina getting ready to leave the house with me. As usual she will take her sandal and walk around.

Today we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary with a big treat at Dian Xiao Er at Vivo City. I must say that the food is good. We really enjoyed ourselves there not to mention Sabrina enjoying the food and playing there.

Trip to Auntie's house

Brought her to Clementi to visit Auntie. Generally she was very well-behaved throughout the journey on the train and bus. Well that was because she has her Elmo to accompany her. Adrian, being the doting daddy, convert all her Elmo vcds (currently we have 5 vcd. I just have this feeling that it will increase soon. hahaha) into some format into the computer and then transferred into the Creative Vision W. This Creative Vision W is a portable device where we can load movies or any shows into it and bring it along wherever we go. Well it definitely proves useful for us as now Sabrina can see happy in the car or train watching her favourite show.

Junction 8 Happenings

My cousin came with her hubby over the weekend and stayed over at my aunt's place at Bishan. So we decided to go over and say hi and of course to let her see our little princess. Anyway we had a great time there and after the left, we decided to go to Junction 8 to hav dinner and to look around since GSS is on now.

Had dinner at Ding Tai Fung. Wow nice food. Really enjoyed having our meal there except for the small hiccup where they served us our dessert - red bean paste bun together with our main course. But the waitress was very sweet. She came forward and offered to keep the dessert for us till later so that it would still be nice and hot when we eat that later now. Thanks alot.

After dinner, we went shopping. Brought Sabrina a new pair of squeaking shoes from Cerisi. Wow, she needs to get the largest pair and it was the last pair for that design. Actually wanted to get another pair for her but it ran out of sizes.

I also managed to buy Dad a suit for Fathers' Day. Got him a nice red polo that I know he will wear often and a pair of kaki pants. I bought this as I know that they are going to Macau in September. So he will need comfortable clothes to move around and enjoy himself. Hope he likes it when I gave it to him in 2 weeks' time.

Then I saw Carmen. Her son, Darren is really tall, even my mum commented that. Anyway Carmen had a great laugh when I told her about why I could not meet up with them on Tuesday. Well I actually told Amy I could meet up with them but I only realised that Tuesday would be the day I will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary the next morning when I woke up. Ahhhhh... Carmen was laughing so hard as she said usually men would be the one who would forget but not women. Hahahaha.

Then we went to Seiyu. Went to the toy department on the 2nd floor. Sabrina was happily playing with the labels on the stuffed toys instead of playing with the toys itself. After playing for a while, she decided to ransack her pram which had by now became a trollery. She found her .....BREAD. Her favourite food apart from her milk. So I got to use the bread to lure her to follow us if not she will be creating havoc wherever she goes.

As she moved along with us, another little boy came along with his family members. He is definitely older than Sabrina as he was able to make some gestures. Anyway, Sabrina made the first move and stopped in front of him and started talking to him in their babies language. The boy actually replied and they sort of had a 2 way communication. Then the funny part was when the boy squatted down and my girl did that as well and at the same time pointed to his shoes. It just looked so cute with 2 kids squatting down and communicating in their baby language. The boy's uncles I believed quickly took out his digital camera and snapped a few shots of two of them.

Soon, Sabrina decided to move forward and play other stuff but she still wants her bread. So I gave her and she walked away. However this boy continued to look at me so I decided to give him some bread. i pinched a small piece of the bread and was about to give him when Sabrina rushed forward and wanted to eat it. Hahaha. In the end I gave her that piece and shooed her away before I gave the boy a small piece of the bread. Hahaha.

Trip to Ikea Tampines

We brought her to Giant Tampine for grocery shopping. It's like a fortnightly grocery shopping trip there for us. Nothing much happened while we were there except she got a little irritated after sitting in the trolley for a while so she made a lot of noise. As usual :)

Then we decided to go over to Ikea to purchase a big cushion for her. Adrian went to buy our favourite chicken wings from the restaurant, I brought Sabrina to the kids section to play. She saw the bear that she has at home and picked it out from the compartment and went round the kids section. It was so hilarious. The funniest would be this. She picked up the bear and went one round the kids section. Then she put the bear back into the compartment and picked up another bear and started another walk round the section again. I was laughing so hard. An old uncle with his 2 grandsons was also laughing.

I think Sabrina did that a couple of times until she saw the uncle's grandsons playing with the miniature cookery set. The younger boy was more self-centred. He sort of refused to allow Sabrina to be near the area as he was playing. Kept blabbing words and using his hand to show "Stop there". My little princess though naughty and agreesive at times, did not step forward to snatch from the boy. She just stood there and look. After a while, she just walked away. She did that twice. She only moved forward to play when the 2 boys left. So sweet ya. I can't believe that she will do that but I am really glad that she did what she did. At least I know that she will not be agreesive with others except for the parents.

Then we went downstairs where the cushion department it. We decided to put her in the trollery so that we need not carry her. As usual after a while, she got irritated so we pull her out of the babyseat of the trolley and into the big area in the trollery. She was so happy. She was smart enough to move to the front so that she can have the bird's eye view of everything that we passed by. And to think she can think of it.
